Advice to all models.
If you think a model’s walk is just a walk, think again. Nearly every runway comes with its own instructions directing models not just on where to walk, but on how. Sometimes it’s a persona to adopt. Sometimes it’s the speed, or the timing, or the facial expression. At Roberto Cavalli’s spring 2013 show at Milan fashion week a sign backstage could be spotted with the instruction: Walk strong but softly. Don’t stamp your feet.
